Promo narrative:

Salut Ça Va?...

Just let that sink in. “Hello, how are you?...” We have all use this simple throw away question regularly.  But 10 weeks ago the meaning behind this simple phrase changed for us all, rather then just a greeting it became a tool for us to quickly find assurances that our family and friends were safe and well. It has become the most important part of our conversations allowing us all to quickly figure how we’re all doing in a time when things have gone mad and offer help to those who need it.

It was from that idea that Salut Ça Va was born. Seeing these interactions on a daily basis lit a fire inside Dick York (Cryssis, DYO). As part of his own lockdown journey Dick began dabbling with recording songs at home using GarageBand. With all live shows and 4th album recording schedules cancelled with his German based Punk stalwarts, Dick set out to record on his own in a makeshift studio put together in the shed, otherwise known as the man cave, at end of his garden. With time on his hands and with much perseverance (and maybe a little sprinkle of luck) things came together and Salut Ça Va was born. Much like the scientists fighting to rid us of the awful COVID virus, Dick sought to create a sonic cure, a call to arms, a ballad to those who are struggling with the isolation, creating something truly “pandemic anthemic”  if you will.

Enlisting the help of Jay Harrison (DYO, Bear Club, Phoebe&Jay) on drums and aiding in production, the song took on a life of its own becoming a true swan song of the apocalyptic landscape of things here in the U.K. and across the globe.

The message is simple... say hello, how are you? Look after our fellow humans. Take care of one another and stand as one. We may be on our own but we are together in this plight and that message needs to be spread far and wide.

Please watch the video and share with your friends. Salut Ça Va will be released via Detour Records and will be available to stream and download on all major platforms from Friday 12th June 2020.
